sounds like the seven dwarfs, haha! except they live in my head, and i’m no snow white. speaking of which, check out this ad image above and link to its controversy. today you can call me vicki lester after the character in “a star is born”, cukor’s 1956 version, in which judy garland starred and co-directed (though she never got official credit) in her MUCH deserved come-back which the a-hole producers hacked to death, ruining a masterpiece out of spite (i just saw the american masters series, and its doc on judy garland — highly recommend!)
so back to this page, and the mood meter, which i guess i’ll resurrect and attempt to animate through a looser mishmash of thoughts and images. speaking of which, here are some images i found googling images for “rainbow vintage illustration” in honor of gay pride (everyone should celebrate) this past weekend. my favorite, btw, is the second one by postwar japanese graphic designer, kiyosh iawazu, who was a great find (i didn’t know about his work before) so peep his stuff!

so back to this page, and the mood meter idea, which i guess i’ll resurrect and attempt to animate through a looser mishmash of thoughts and images whenever i feel like it. in janestown style. for now, i’ll let judy garland, vicki lester, and these raindow images i found online (for gay pride wknd, everyone should celebrate!) “represent”. my favorite of the latter, btw, is the second one by postwar japanese graphic designer, kiyosh iawazu, a great find (i didn’t know his work beforehand), so peep his stuff! that’s it for now. the sucky thing about this column being a widget is that i can’t save each letter/update, to my knowledge. so there like virtual limited editions, i guess! during the month of july, will be going on a residency in woodstock (for fiction – hoping to finish a short story for a collection) and will try to post more/again while there, but no promises:)
